A heritage-focused brewing operation in Cross Plains, WI, dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Esser family. They specialize in traditional German-style beers and have a deep history of family involvement spanning six generations. While they formerly operated their own brewery and later used contract brewing, they are currently a subsidiary of Sand Creek Brewing Co.

History

Founded in 1863 by George Esser, who arrived in Wisconsin from Germany in 1852. The brewery produced 'Esser's Best' and was a staple of the community until brewing was discontinued around 1910 due to competition. The family remained in the beer business as distributors through Prohibition. In 1995, Wayne and Larry Esser relaunched the brand using George's original recipe. In 2015, the company was acquired by Sand Creek Brewing Co.
