History

Door County Brewing was founded in 2012 by John and Angie McMahon. In 2017, the founders launched Hacienda Beer Co. as an experimental offshoot. Hacienda opened its own 15-barrel brewery in Baileys Harbor in 2018 and expanded to Milwaukee in 2019. After transitioning to contract brewing with 3 Sheeps, the Milwaukee taproom closed in 2025, but the Baileys Harbor operation remains active.
